Fitness Essential to Mental Health

Bulging biceps, massive pecs, and dreamy abs are not the only benefits to staying fit. In fact, they may be the least of the reasons you should exercise regularly. Studies show that people who regularly work out and stay active are healthier not only physically, but mentally too.

Fitness helps relieve stress and can even help your body produce adrenaline and endorphins a natural "feel good" chemical you produce naturally when stimulated correctly. If you have never been really stressed out after work or a long day with the family and just hit the gym for a while, you may not understand its benefits.

Hitting the gym, throwing in the Ipod, and listening to some tunes really does the trick for me. I'll bet it could help you out too. Exercise helps build self confidence, relieve stress, and improve your brain activity - so what's stopping you? Hit the gym!

If you hate the gym, try something different. Walk the local trails, go biking, get involved in a pick up game of basketball, play racquetball, softball, ANYTHING will do. Just go out there and have some fun, it pays you back double.
