- Listen to Music: This may seem simple and it is, but it is a very effective way to get pumped up when lifting or taking a jog. I love to listen to music when I run, I listen to fast paced stuff and it usually makes me push a little harder than I would normally.
- Workout Partner: A good workout partner can make all the difference. There have been many occasions when I may have skipped the gym but my pal held me accountable and I went. I never regret going after the workout. Get a partner!
- Change it up: Don't always do the same stuff. Try a sport or different lift. Try some new trails to bike or jog on. Even change gyms if you have to, just do not give up.
- Set a goal: I always have something to work toward. Whether it is beating my friend in "who can bench press the most" or training for a fight, I always have a direction. It is easy to lose the urge to be fit if you have no reason to do so. Competition can be a good thing!
- Set a date: I want to be this size, lift this much, run this fast, etc. by this date. Set a date and do it. Do not just workout without any purpose, set a date and reach your goals.
- Reward yourself: Buy something cool for yourself if you accomplish a goal, go on a trip, whatever. Congratulate yourself on a job well done!
- Have an Adventure: Go hiking, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, a fishing trip, ANYTHING. Just do something exciting to help you get fit. That always helps me.
- Get the family involved: Let them remind you to hit the gym, set your goals, and motivate you. If the whole family is involved it not only is good for you, but good for them. Plus, it is a lot easier to eat healthy when everyone is on the same page.

Staying Motivated to Workout
Personally, I can't just go to the gym and lift. I need some motivation to get up in the morning and work my butt off. For me it doesn't take much, but there are several ways to prevent boredom in fitness. Here are a few tips.
