Balance Prevents Burnout

Unless you are an extreme athlete or body builder chances are you can't make it to the gym for 4hrs a day. Most people get into a rut by setting unrealistic life and fitness goals. They want to look like their favorite actor or model.

The truth is most actresses and models do not even look that way. They spend 3 months before a movie or photo shoot prepping for the camera then get edited by some guy just like you on the computer to look perfect. Looking this way is impossible, even for the person in the photo. So don't beat yourself up about it.

Your body type is a function of your genetics and your lifestyle. You can only control one of them so do your best and balance is key. Workout a few times a week and eat a healthy diet. If you go out to eat get the salad or fish option, but do not beat yourself up for having dinner with friends either. No one is saying go out to eat everyday, but a balanced lifestyle is as important as a balanced diet.

Hit the gym at few times a week, if you miss a day or can't make it, jog around the block instead. Remember, life is about balance and happiness so do not let anything ruin that for you. Work hard, eat right, and have fun - you only have one life so be satisfied with it! Good luck!
